

Born on July 4, 1943, in Pensacola, FL, to Curtis Maxwell and Lila Roth Kohr, Alan lived a full and meaningful life centered around his family, career, and community. A graduate of the class of 1961 from Pensacola High School, Alan served his country in the United States Army before attending the University of West Florida. He was a longtime member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church where he married Louise Harriet Lister on June 19, 1964.
Alan enjoyed a long and interesting career as a Certified Public Accountant, building a successful independent practice that he operated for over 50 years.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be remembered for his integrity, wit, and steadfastness and his deep commitment to his family.
Alan is reunited in eternal peace with his wife, Louise Kohr; daughter, Leigh-Anne Kohr; and granddaughter, Elisabeth Stromberg.
He is survived by his daughter, Peyton Kohr; son, John “Jak-y” Kohr, Jr.; granddaughter, Katherine Creel (Seth); grandsons, Jackson and Brody Kohr; and great-grandchildren, Beau and Shelby Creel; all of Pensacola. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Kohr, of Grapevine, TX, and sister, Jane Hawkins (John), of Lebanon, OH, as well as friends, business associates, and clients who will cherish his memory.
Alan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation with the family will be held at Bayview Memorial Park, at graveside, on October 8, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm. A graveside service will immediately follow, beginning at 2:00 pm. A reception honoring Alan will be held at Calvert’s in the Heights from 3 to 6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Camp Beckwith and Wilmer Hall in honor of Alan and Louise Kohr.
