Anita went to meet her Jesus and be reunited with her Mama and Daddy on January 15, 2021. She is the daughter of Ed and Mary Couturie.
She is survived by her Step-Mother Elsie Couturie, Sister Jacqui Blanton (Kenny), Brother Ed Couturie (Ethel), and numerous Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.
Anita was part of the ARC Gateway family and retired from one of their work programs at Armstrong after 23 years of loyal service. She loved bowling and participating in the Special Olympics games and received many awards for her achievements. She had a special love for Elvis and was able to fulfill a dream to see him live in concert.
Anita was well-loved by all for her sweet and loving nature. She always had a big smile and lots of hugs for most anyone she met. She also always kept her close friends in her thoughts and asked about those she had not seen for years.
The family would like to thank all the friends and staff with ARC Gateway for their continued support during her lifetime. A very special thanks to Janet Riley for her unending love and support not only to Anita but to her family. Thank you also to Leesway for the love and friendship you shared with her in the last couple of years. She really missed her friends at Leesway that called her Grandma and gave her so much love, care, and attention. Thank you also to the wonderful nurses at Covenant Hospice for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers, Anita requests donations be made to ARC Gateway.
The services will be Live Streamed via Facebook for friends and family that can not make it to the Celebration but would like to be present for the service.
Following services the family would like to invite their guests to join them at Bayview for food and fellowship.
