Ann was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on May 13, 1933. She was preceeded in death by her parents, John and Julia (McGough) Duffy of Ireland; husband, Robert (Marty) Martnishn , PA; brothers John (Jack) Duffy, Thomas (Tom) Duffy and William (Bill) Duffy.
Surviving are her four children; Donna Alley, Gulf Breeze, FL; Dan Martnishn, Phoenixville, PA; Steve (Ergini) Martnishn, Alexandria, VA and Patty (Carl) Yeager, Mandeville, LA along with nine grandchildren; Sean Alley; Clare, Rowan & Liam Martnishn; Anna, Alex & Chris Batistatos; Jennifer & Nic Yeager.
She is also survived by her loving sisters in law; Joann Martnishn (PA) and Johanne (William) Duffy (CA), along with many nephews and four step grandchildren.
Ann was a devoted wife to Robert “Marty” Martnishn and accompanied him around the USA and Guantanomo Bay, Cuba with their four children, while he served our country in the U.S. Navy. Ann graduated from Misericordia University as a Registered Nurse in 1954 and retired from Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, FL and continued to volunteer there for many years afterwards.
Ann will be remembered for her beautiful smile, sunny disposition, bright red hair, fair Irish complexion, a heart of gold and vibrant personality. Ann's forgiving character and contagious smile will be missed forever. Ann loved the Lord Jesus Christ, was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior and raised her family to know God. She will be dearly missed.
The Mass of Christian Funeral Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Ann’s caregiver and friend, Mona Rodriguez, who is an angel here on earth. Without her help, we would have been lost. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Also, we would like to thank her special friend Audrey Maduell who served as her Eucharistic Minister for the last 2 years and a special thanks to Passages Hospice of Louisiana, especially Jamie Westbrook, Felicia Walker, Laura Bladsacker and Dr. Greg Bizette.
