Anna was born in Pikeville, Tennessee on August 12, 1929. She was the daughter of Martin and clentie Ferguson.
She married her first husband of 48 years, Lester Milton Anderson and had seven children: Lester Anderson Jr., grandsons, Blake Anderson, and Shannon Anderson; Diane Mason (Gil), granddaughters, Sherri Clark, Karen Duskin (Randy), and Deborah Long (Vern); Cathy Crawford (Roger); Marcia Cody, granddaughters, Jessica Calvert (Steve), grandson, Christopher Lewellen; Connie Howard, granddaughters, DeAnn Castañeda (Thaddaeus) and Misty Perdue, grandson, Nicholas Howard; Robin Lewis (Tim), granddaughters, Brittany Miller (Travis), Hannah Guerrero (Danny), grandsons, Daniel Lewis (Kelsey), Zachariah Lewis; Laura Diamond (Kevin), grandchildren, Dustin Diamond (Stephanie), Amanda Diamond. She was also survived by her brother, Donald Ferguson and her sister, Claudette Johnson.
She was also preceded in death by her second husband, William "Bill" Newcomer. They served in ministry together for almost 20 years. Establishing Pillars of Fire senior ministries at several churches.
Anna has 42 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren, in addition to numeral nieces and nephews.
Anna was a woman of great faith and seized every opportunity to share the love of Jesus to those around her.
Family was important to Anna and she loved having large family gatherings with everyone around her singing and laughing. She was independent and strong. Anna would never let fear or the opinions of others sway her deep convictions.
She was a giver that loved to help others. Anna not only loved in word but in deed.
She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. Roses were her favorite.
Anna was a hard worker who often reflected on her many years working at the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Veterans home. She served them with sincerity and love.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Milton Anderson, second husband, William Newcomer, daughter, Cathy Crawford, son, Lester Anderson Jr., grandson, Shannon Anderson, grandson Christopher Lewellen, granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Lewis, great grandson, Tyler Hammond, great granddaughter, Keyara Perdue, parents, Martin and Clentie Ferguson, bothers, Roy Lee Ferguson, Guy Ferguson, and James Ferguson.
A Visitation for Anna will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534. Followed by a Funeral service at 12:00 PM. Burial will occur at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens, Pensacola, FL.
