Barbara Jean Briggs

On Tuesday, February 16th, we lost our wonderful Mother, Grandmother, relative, and friend, Barbara (Bobbie) Briggs. She was a Christian and a faithful member of Brownsville Baptist Church for many years. She was retired after 46 years working at Bogan Supply Company and was known for her sweet spirit and giving and sharing nature. We were blessed while we had her here, and her beautiful voice will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Her husband of 55 years, Gene Briggs, predeceased her as well as her parents, Joe and Estelle Cravey, and her sister, Alice Lee.

She is survived by two sons, Art Briggs and Eugene "Geno" Briggs and his wife, Cherie. She also leaves grandsons, Tommy Briggs, Chad Briggs and his wife, Pam, and Corey Briggs, along with one great-granddaughter, Layla. Two sisters, Lunette Wilson and Eleanor Head also survive her along with a special cousin, Rev. Mel Gentry and numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 18th, at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Hwy. A service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 19th, at 10:00 a.m. also at Bayview.
