Beth, I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. Please accept my delayed sympathy as I just learned of it today. You dont know me, but we were a resting spot when he driving. He was always excited to be traveling to see family. I met your father through our business, AllSouth appliance and what a special man. He was always quick to offer help, advice and anything he could to help us, especially in the early days. I will miss him, I can hear him now looking for our salespeople to say hi, getting a cup of coffee and finally sitting down in my office to talk appliance biz gossip or Alabama football! I'll miss those conversations. Peace be with you and God bless.

My mentor I thank you and an industry will miss you. I learned so much from you and I enjoyed our monthly talks together after you retired. Beth your dad was great guy and a proud grandpa. When we talked he always brought your family up in conversation. I wish I had known I would have come but for now I will say a prayer for my friend. You will be missed Barry and as you called my kids "the youngins" they say goodbye.

I have very few childhood memories that dis not include "Mr. Barry" as we all called him. Weather we were at home in Bellview, at the shop (John's Garage), at the camp on Soldier's Creek or going to the landfill, you were always there to help my family. You were one of the best neighbors and friend someone could ask for. You were a dedicated husband, dad, grandfather, soldier, firefighter, and friend. You will be missed greatly. Rest in  peace, we will see you again in heaven someday. Roll Tide, I am a huge Alabama fan today because of watching football with you. And last but not least, blame it on me because "Widdee did it"

I have known your dad ever since I was a little girl. Your dad and my dad were in the fire department together. I lost my dad 3 weeks ago, also and I know what you are going thru. Barry was a great guy and he and my dad are spending Christmas with Jesus this year. May the Lord give you love and peace during this time of sorrow. God Bless, Kim (Miller) Robinson

Beth, Your dad meant alot to so many many people.  He always had wonderful things to say about you and oh how he loved Peyton.  I so enjoyed working with him for so many years and will miss our annual birthday calls to catch up on our lives and old co-wokers.  I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Roll Tide Mr. Barry.  Most of my memories as a child included you, Mrs. Linda and Beth.  You opened your home to us like you were family and it was almost automatic that our birthday parties and family events were at your house.  We will miss you tremendously and thank you so much for everything you have done!

A patriot, soldier, grandfather, father, and friend, though my time with you was small, your heroic and genuine spirit will remain with me always.  May you rest in eternal peace.

Beth, Peyton, and Dave, my condolences go out to you in the greatest multitude.  He will live in you forevermore.

Barry, It was my pleasure to work with you for 20 plus years at MGVFD. I held you in the highest regard. A job very well done Captain.

I grew up across the street from Barry, Linda and Beth. Barry was one of my Dad's very best friends and a guy I looked up to growing up. He taught me lifeguard techniques in his backyard pool that allowed me to save a man from drowning later that year. Barry was there beside me the first time I did CPR on a real person, and he was always the first to volunteer his help with any kind of project that my dad and my brother and I were undertaking, no matter how hard it was. Barry was the kind of man that I always aspired to be, I am proud to call him my mentor and my friend and I will miss his kind, light-hearted way. 

Barry, thanks for everything through all the years, now, go rest easy my friend.

Your mom and dad had been such good friends with my parents for years.  Starting in Cuba in the 60's.  After my mom died Jun of 2004 and then your mom died Nov 2004 Barry had still come over to check on dad and had spent many a Christmas with us.  As you know we were looking forward to him coming again this Christmas.  I had called him at half time of the Alabama/Georgia game.  His last words to me were, if Alabama looses do not call me!!  Then he said he would call to tell us when he was coming over to Jacksonville for Christmas.  Dad will not be able to travel to Pensacola but we will donate some monies to Wounded Warrier Project.  We sure will miss him.

I met Barry back in the early 70's with the Myrtle Grove Vol. Fire Dept. He was a great guy who always had a funny story to tell. Rest in Peace, my friend!
