Betty was a long-time resident of Lewisville, Texas before moving with her husband to Pensacola, Florida. She was a waitress for over 20 years before trading in her apron for a telephone, stapler, and schedule book, as a secretary in a medical office where she eventually retired. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, going to church, watching game shows, animals, computer games, cooking, and taking care of those she loved. Betty’s greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandma, & great grandma. She was known for her hospitality, inviting smile, infectious laughter, ability to meet a friend everywhere she went, and her wonderful servant heart. She was a strong Christian woman throughout her entire life and always shared her love and faith in God with anyone who would listen or who she felt needed to hear it. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and by those she embraced and adopted into her heart as family.
She is preceded in passing by her husband, Oscar Lee Edge in 2012, after 62 years of marriage, son, Michael Eugene Edge, grandson, Jason Lee Edge, and son-in-law, Daryl Vernon Payne.
She is survived by her son, Lloyd Lee Edge (SueGee) of St. Petersburg, FL; daughter, Sonia G Payne of Pensacola, FL; granddaughter, Amanda Davenport (James) of Leechburg, PA; grandsons, John M Edge (Amy) of Sanger, TX; Kevin Edge of Odessa, FL; and 9 great grandchildren whom she loved, adored, and prayed for often.
A graveside service will be held at Bayview Memorial Park on Monday, October 28th @ 1:00pm.
