Celebration of Life service for Betty White, 87, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 17, 2019, in the Bayview Fisher-Pou Funeral Home Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway 90e, Pensacola, FL, 32503, with Chaplain Ken Griffin. Entombment will immediately follow on the grounds of Bayview Memorial Park, Pensacola, FL.
Betty Jean Simmons Shell White was born May 3, 1932, to the late Giddie Rufus and Bettie Lee Hardin Simmons in Castleberry, AL. She was called to her Heavenly home May 14, 2019, in Americus, GA.
She lived in Florida for many years; she enjoyed the beach and making crafts out of shells. Betty loved animals and had many faithful furry companions over the years. She was a very loving and giving person and thrived on caring for others. Betty always had a kind word or shared a laugh with everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Carlos Simmons of Bessemer, AL, Elwood Simmons of Arlington, TX, Lemond Simmons of Brewton, AL, Joseph Simmons of Cantonment, FL and one daughter; Janice Marie Frye of Gulf Breeze, FL.
Left with Betty’s beautiful memories will be her two daughters: Katherine Shell Unnasch of Austin TX, Claudette Shell Fore (Howard) of Cordele GA, four grandchildren, Phred Newman (John) of Austin TX, Brian Neese of Huntsville AL, Howard Fore, III of Monticello GA, Sandy Fore Ryles (Terry) of Monticello GA, one great granddaughter Cheyenne Smith, several nieces and nephews and special close friend Darrell Waldall of Americus, GA.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Magnolia Manor of Americus, GA, for their excellent care over the past few years.
