Betty Reid

Remaining to cherish her memory are her loving children Betty Dyson, Kate (Chris) Jenkins, Barbie Reid Brazel, Dan (Ruth) Reid and William Reid; grandchildren, Danielle (Chase) Gatyas, Liz Waite, Kate (Calen) Gerstenberger, Handsel Reid, Chloe (Graham) Wilson, Steve Dyson, Daniel Jenkins, Lexie (Johnny) McKeen-Chaff, Danny (Makayla) Reid, and Sarah Reid; great-grandchildren, Lauren Waite, Ella Waite, Macy Waite, Reid Gatyas, Eli Gatyas, Wyatt Gerstenberger, Wade Gerstenberger, Baylen Gatyas, Row Wilson, Jehu McKeen-Chaff, and Waylon Reid, her siblings, Faye White, Sara Rogers, Jerry “Buddy” Hickman, Jane Nelson, and many many friends.

Betty was born November 4, 1930 in Jackson, MS to Mavis Inez and William Clinton Hickman. Betty resided in Pensacola from 1963-2011. She spent her most recent years in Orlando, Dade City, and Zephyrhills, FL.

Betty retired from Sacred Heart Hospital where she was a CRNA and the Department Head of Anesthesia.

Betty is preceded in death by her dear husband Daniel “Dan” Alexander Reid and her parents Mavis Inez and William Clinton Hickman, and her beloved dog, Bryndle.

The family would like to recognize and express their appreciation for the friendship that several generations of swim parents offered our mother, those of you that worked with her, her Emerald Isle friends, and all the many relatives that took the time to call her and keep in touch throughout the years. Your calls meant the most to her and chatting on the phone made her very happy. Thank you.

There will be a gravesite service on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm, section 15 of Bayview Memorial Cemetery with a reception immediately following at the Bayview Fisher Pou Chapel.
