It is with great sorrow and sadness to hear that Miss Billie has passed. I had just thought about Miss Billie a few weeks ago. I wondered how she was doing. She and my mother, Mary McCoy, who also worked at the Courthouse, were very close friends. I remember going "antiquing" with my mom and Miss Billie over 50 years ago. We stopped at McDonalds to eat lunch one day and Miss Billie "snuck" me an extra 35 cents to buy an extra hamburger. I remember the long phone conversations, my mother and Miss Billie had, talking over politics and all the gossip and scandals going on at the courthouse back in the 60's. I think the one thing I best remember about Miss Billie was her kindness and gentle way about her. About a month before my mother passed in 2015, Miss Billie had a caregiver drive her over to see my mom. Moms memory was fading due to the onset of dementia, But I remember she was so happy to see Miss Billie. There will never be another generation of women like Miss Billie and my mother. I can hear them now, catching up on politics! God bless you and your family Miss Billie.
