Billie Jean Spencer

Billie Jean Spencer, 86, passed away on Nov. 09, 2015. He was born on June 12, 1929 to mother, Lydia Francis Spencer in Pine Ridge, Kentucky. Billie enlisted in the Navy in March of 1947 and retired in May 1973, after serving 26 years. After his military service, he continued working as a tow boat pilot for 17 years, retiring in 1990.Billie was a member of the Masons for over 40 years. He belonged to West Pensacola Lodge #296, York Rite Masons, Shriners of North America, American Legion #240, Fleet Reserve branch #022, Amvets #292, VFW #706, and Elks Lodge #2108.He was a loving father, and will be greatly missed. Billie is survived by his son, Bill; daughters, Debbie and Susan; granddaughter, Jessica; brother, Harvey; sisters, Nancy, Emily, and Peggy.Visitation will take place on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 6-8 PM at OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 619 N. New Warrington Rd. Pensacola, FL 32506. Funeral service will take place at the funeral home the next morning on Friday, Nov. 13 at 8:30 AM. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors.
