He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Mary, and his sister, Barbra Wagner.
Brad was a graduate of the University of West Florida, where he earned both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Mathematics degrees. He retired from the Escambia County School District as a Mathematics teacher with his last position at Washington High School. He was also employed as a math adjunct and tutor at Pensacola State College, formerly Pensacola Junior College. During his career, he received honors as the Escambia County Math Teacher of the Year, 1992-1993; Radio Shack/Tandy Technology Scholar Outstanding Teacher, 1995-1996 and 1996-1997; Radio Shack/Tandy Technology Scholar Honorable Mention, 1997-1998; GTE Corp. Brad received his National Board Teacher Certification in 2004-2005 and was selected five years to travel as an AP Calculus Test Reader (grader) by the College Board.
He continued reading “his” calculus and physics books (for fun!) into retirement, recalling with warm memories ALL his students but especially his Calculus students since that was his favorite subject.
Brad was an active member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in various ministries and could be found volunteering in the church library most days.
The family would like to thank Claire, Courtney, Jesse, AJ and the other ICU nurses; Dr. Matyi; and NP Cathy at Sacred Heart Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Brad and our family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church (7979 N. 9th Avenue, Pensacola) on Saturday, February 17, at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Rob Dixon will be officiating with Fr. Roger Hungerford assisting.
Following services, an inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Episcopal Church Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation, in honor of Brad, to Holy Cross Library Fund or a charity special to you.
