

Brunett Knight was born to Roston and Maude Anna Smith on August 9th, 1922 in Checotah, Oklahoma, one of nine children. She graduated high school from the McIntosh County public school system and, at an early age, accepted Christ as her savior and united with the Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Brunett eventually moved to Oklahoma City and united with the Mount Rose Baptist Church, now known as Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church. She met Wilson Knight who also attended Mount Rose. The couple married on December 14th, 1949. They were happily married for 51 years. He preceded her in death. From this union one child was born, Wilson Gregory.
Brunett was an active church member serving in a variety of areas including a missions support group. She was also employed by the Youngblood family for many years during which she received certification as an IBM data entry technician through the Oklahoma City Career Training Institute.
On January 20th, 2016, Brunett was called from the trials and tribulations of this life to eternal rest. Her memory is cherished by her son, Wilson Gregory; daughter-in-law, Clara; grandson, Wilson Gregory, II; step grandchildren, Luis and Aidsha; and a host of other relatives and friends.
