Carmela Cardone Havens, born December 14, 1942, age 77, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020. Carmela born in Naples, Italy, came to the United States with her husband, Retired MSC Richard Havens in 1968. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt (Zia).
She spent her life caring and helping others. She spent many years as a childcare giver for many children raising them as if they were her own. She loved to express her love of others through her Italian cooking and in her faith offering prayers who always came to her in need. On any given day she was found cooking in her kitchen for her nurses, doctors, family, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Pasquale Cardone and her sister Tina Gory.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Richard Havens; daughters, Ann Leighty, Bel Air, MD, Maria McCleary, Fredericksburg, VA ; son, Richard Havens and daughter-in-law, Traci Havens, Palm Beach, FL; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Carmela, Aidan, Giuliana, Reilly, Daniella, Ariana, Rayna; five siblings in Naples, Italy and one in Massachusetts along with many nieces and nephews.
