Carol was born in Illinois, the only child of Jean Althea Comber and John Ralph Comber.
She attended Pensacola High School and Pensacola Junior College.
She volunteered at the Naval Hospital during the Vietnam War assisting returning veterans.
Carol worked as a buyer for Lewis Bear distributor. She worked at a daycare doing what she loved, taking care of and teaching children. Carol was a world traveler.
Carol loved sharing recipes, cooking and hosting parties. She also loved sewing, arts and crafts, and making gifts for others.
Carol was a lifetime member of the Warrington Presbyterian Church.
Carol and her parents were also members of the American Camellia Society, which has registered camellia varieties named “Jean Comber,” John Comber,” and Comber’s Pride.”
Carol travelled often to both national & regional camellia shows. She volunteered with the Camellia Society in a variety of capacities, and she registered her own camellia variety named “Carol’s Katie.”
She was an honorable, honest and true friend. A Christian in deed, selfless in helping others, loved by all and will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her adopted daughter Katie Boren-Amoo, cousin Nancy Kilian and her sons Sean and Brian Kilian, and cousins Ken, Dianne, Nancy, Robin, and Kendra Burnham through maternal grandmother, Helen Comber Burnham.
Church service will be celebrated February 16th at 1 pm at Warrington Presbyterian Church followed by graveside service at Bayview Memorial Park.
