Carol Jean Rogers

It is with conflicting emotions that we share the news of the passing of Carol Jean Rogers on November 25, 2021… there is sadness in our loss but joy in her reuniting with her true love, Milton. Carol Jean was born on September 16, 1931 to Fred and Eunice Carter and grew up in Statesboro, Georgia and Tampa, Florida. She completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from the University of Kentucky, and eventually moved to Pensacola in the early 1960’s, working in various medical practices and at Baptist Hospital and later had a successful career in real estate at Connell-Manziek Realtors.

At the age of sixteen, she met her only true love, Milton Rogers, from Louisville, Kentucky and would later become his loving wife of sixty-nine years. Together, they raised their three children, Milton C. Rogers (“Much”), Richard W. Rogers, and Rebecca Duff Ramsey. In addition to her children, Carol Jean was blessed with six wonderful grandchildren who loved their “Muv”.

Carol Jean loved and devoted herself to her family. Throughout each of our lives… the directions we have chosen and the successes we have enjoyed… have been a product of her keen insight… and we have all shed tears, thinking of how different our lives would have been if not for her wisdom.

Our mother had her beliefs and was never shy about expressing them… but she also gave her love absolutely… to friends and family… and there is now an emptiness in our lives that is impossible to understand, unless you were one of the fortunate people that she brought into her circle.

Our family would like to offer our special thanks and love to the caring professionals of Oak Bridge Terrace at Azalea Trace, and especially to the dedicated Personal Assistants who made sure her final days were filled with love, understanding, patience, and care.

Goodbye Carol Jean, CJ, Mother, Mom, Momma, Muv.

In lieu of flowers, her family has asked that a donation be sent in Carol Jean’s name to St. Christopher’s Memorial Fund, 3200 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, Florida 32503 (850-433-0074). This is the church in which Carol Jean and Milton raised their family and that they loved and supported for over fifty years.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway 90E Pensacola, FL from 9:00am to 10:00am with a funeral service to follow.
