Carole Ann "Doodle" Jameson was creative, kind, and adventurous. She was a daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who was loved by all who knew her and brought joy into all our lives. She went to vocational school in Orlando, Florida where she became a nurse who taught her children to be kind to all human beings. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi social sorority, served as an officer, and was named, “Best Girl” of the Year. She made many longtime sisters while working on community service projects during her years in the organization in both Orlando, Florida and Dahlonega, Georgia. Becoming a secretary after nursing, she was sought out and fought over due to her exceptional efficiency and 120 wpm typing speed. Her bright smile and kind heart always made her an even more desirable employee in these positions. After retiring from North Georgia State University, she became the secretary/bookkeeper for James H. Drew Expositions which is the fancy way of saying, "she ran away with the carnival" and she absolutely LOVED that work because not only did she get paid to travel, she could eat hot dogs or popcorn any time she wanted. Some nights, after her children were older, were designated as "Popcorn Night" because she was craving popcorn for dinner. Carole Ann was a Christian who loved God and fishing. She spent a summer as a salesperson in the Fishing Department of Old Faithful Store at Yellowstone National Park and owned a foldable fishing boat that travelled everywhere she went. She was overjoyed to tell the tales of having visited 49 United States, Mexico, Canada, and Europe during her time on our beautiful earth. Originally from Pensacola, Florida she loved the beach as much as the mountains where she also lived for many years. No matter where she travelled, Carole Ann fell in love with her surroundings. She was always excited to retell the story of travelling through the Panama Canal on a ship. She instilled in her children the same sense of adventure and they are now scattered around the country in places they love. She was extremely proud of their adventurous natures, intelligence and their myriad of accomplishments. She was a storyteller and wanted her children to know her story and those of the people who came before us. She was a dancer who took many years of dance classes, taught her children to dance, and felt joy everytime she was on any dance floor where she was most comfortable. She also loved music and played the saxophone in the middle school band and the piano and organ “for her own amazement” throughout her lifetime. She absolutely loved to sing and music of many genres, Tony Bennett was her favorite and she saw him in concert multiple times. She was a campfire director at summer camp and adults all around the southern U.S. to this day remember who taught them those stupid songs long ago. She always had a lovely flower garden and plants all around her, she could definitely keep any plant thriving and her very favorite was the Petunia. After travelling with the carnival and in an RV around North America, she settled in the Tampa, Florida area where she went to Barnum and Bailey Clown College and she earned her clown number to become, "DoodleBug" the clown and "Quiet Heart" the mime. She was a priesthood member, "Priest" in Communities of Christ church and used her clowning as a teacher and in hospice and hospital settings as a hospice clown. She created many shows with her "clown alley" to entertain and to teach love and kindness and how to be more Christlike towards other human beings. Carole Ann "Doodle" Jameson, our Mom, was a storyteller and her family is extremely thankful we were regaled with so many of those old family stories throughout our years together and we hold them close to our hearts at her passing.
