Carolyn Hadwin, 79, entered Heaven’s gates on August 21, 2022. She went peacefully in her sleep, at home after a short battle with brain cancer. Her son and daughter were holding her hand as she passed.
She was born December 9, 1942 in Pensacola and was a lifetime resident of Cantonment. She married Ray Hadwin July 21, 1967 and remained married until his passing in 2004. Carolyn has enjoyed the last 9 years with her partner Paul Snider. She is survived by her two children Toni Barrett of Cleburne, TX and Travis Hadwin(Jenny) of Clearwater Fl, 6 grandchildren Melissa Hampton of Petal Ms, Kelcy Barrett(Mary Ellen) of Ft Worth Texas, Reid Barrett(Cassie) Boston, Ma, Jack Hadwin of Detroit, Mi and Kate Hadwin of Windsor Ontario Canada, Chandler Hof of Clearwater, Fl plus two great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters Theresa and Marilyn and brother Wayne. She has 7 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews and at least 50 plus first cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Roy and Dovie and sister Freida.
Carolyn was an avid traveler and enjoyed many sporting, social and cultural events. There wasn’t much she was not up to trying. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed the Friday night dances.
Carolyn was a central and supportive figure for her family. Her friends were countless with many from childhood.
Carolyn will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
Carolyn will be laid to rest in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
