Carolyn Virginia Sowell, 78, of Pensacola, FL passed away on September 8, 2021 peacefully at home. She was born in Abingdon, Virginia to Wiley and Alice Singleton on August 15, 1943. Carolyn married the love of her life, Joseph Earl Sowell Sr. They have enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage.
Carolyn was a homemaker, she had a passion for gardening, sewing, quilting and taking care of her family. She also attended Courts of Praise.
She is preceded in death by her dad Wiley E Singleton, mom Alice Hauser Singleton, sisters Louise Goodson, Ruth Byington and Pauline Nester. Her brothers Paul Singleton, Junior Singleton, Garland Singleton and James Singleton also preceded Carolyn in death.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband Joseph Earl Sowell Sr., daughter Shelley A Sowell, three sons; Joey Sowell Jr. (Angie), Wiley Sowell, and Andrew Sowell. She also leaves behind two granddaughters Amanda and Jessica, also a brother Jack Singleton.
The family has entrusted Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with arrangements. Visitation will be held at 1985 W. Nine Mile Rd, Pensacola, FL. 32534 on Friday September 17, 2021 at 2pm, with Service at 3pm. Final Rest will be at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
