Carolyn Whitmore1924 - 2014Carolyn Lilah Whitmore, 89, of Pensacola, Florida, passed peacefully on April 5, 2014. A private memorial service was held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, officiated by Pastor Mitch Turner.She was born in Reserve, Louisiana to Ogden and Lilah Wilton and attended Southeastern College in Hammond, LA. In later years she resided in Pensacola where she worked as a photographer and artist for Fredrickson's Studio ultimately becoming owner of the business. Carolyn had many wonderful friends whose company she greatly enjoyed throughout the years. She had an endearing personality that always made her friends feel special. They knew that they had made a lifetime friend because she was just that kind of person.Her children will always remember their loving, caring mother whose sweet disposition and endearing manner has been a strong influence throughout their lives. These affectionate memories of her will long be cherished. She is preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Ralph Hamill Whitmore, and survived by their children: Cheryl Melville, (Carlos); Ralph Whitmore, III (Myra); Gary Whitmore (Martha); Sandra Lowe (Curtis); and her sister and best friend, Mary Barrow (William); as well as many much loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the caring staff at Carpenter's Creek Assisted Living for making her stay with them so pleasant and enjoyable. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Covenant Hospice, whose kindness and compassionate care helped her tremendously through difficult times, and for whom we are forever grateful.
