Catherine Patricia “Pat” Thrash, 89, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. Born May 2, 1937, in Fairfax, Alabama, Pat spent her younger years in Sylacauga, Alabama, before beginning the next chapter of her life.
In 1955, she married Howard Thrash. Two years later, in 1957, they moved to Pensacola, Florida, where Pat began a long and dedicated career with Chemstrand, later Monsanto. She worked there from 1957 until the mid-1990s, building a career that spanned approximately four decades.
Pat was a woman who took pride in herself and in her appearance. She had a genuine love for beauty and all things feminine, and she enjoyed looking her best. She also loved staying active and spending time with her family. Among her favorite pastimes were bowling, clogging, and camping, creating memories that her family will carry with them for years to come.
Those who knew Pat well will remember her for her strong personality. She was hard-headed, independent, and famously unfiltered. She was never afraid to say exactly what she thought or how she felt. While that straightforward nature could certainly make her a force to be reckoned with, it was also a part of what made Pat uniquely herself.
In the later years of her life, Pat resided in a nursing facility, where she formed meaningful friendships with some of the people who cared for her, including Cailya, Tequila and Marcia. Their kindness and companionship became an important part of her final years, and her family is grateful for the care and friendship they shared with her.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Clela and William Hassell Cleveland; her siblings, Leonard, Mickey, and Fred Cleveland, and Sara Gravette; and her son, Howard Thrash, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Debra Thrash; her grandson, Travis Thrash; her granddaughter-in-law, Lynsey Thrash; and her great-grandsons, William Thrash and Harrison Thrash.
Pat will be remembered for her strong spirit, her unmistakable personality, her love of family, and the many memories she made throughout her life. She will be missed dearly by her family, her friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral services will be held at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens, 1985 W Nine Mile Rd, Pensacola, FL 32534, on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m.
