CATHERINE LYNN WOODS Early on the morning of April 22, 2014, our dear Cathy was called home to be with our Lord. She was 49 years old. Cathy lived her life full of spirit. She had a larger than life personality and everyone who came in contact with her was better for it. She was so very generous with any thing she had to give and wanted to make sure that everyone in her life knew that she cared for them. Cathy's greatest gift she gave was her love. Cathy was born in Pensacola and raised in Molino, Fl with her family. She was the baby of 8 children was the apple of the family's eye. She attended Tate High School where she was a member of two choruses for all four years of high school. The connections she made then continued throughout her adulthood. Cathy became a loyal member to the NAAFA and Dimensions community. Through these organizations, she found her voice. She had so many fond memories and experiences with her NAAFA family. They were her confidants and soul mates. Cathy had an amazing sense of style and business which she was able to show through modeling and directing several fashion shows within her community. Later in life, Cathy's dream came true and was able to open two children and gift boutiques which was her passion. Cathy never met a person that she did not like and want to befriend. She wanted to help everyone she could. We will never forget her love and support. Cathy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Wild, her parents, Carl and Ruby Woods, two sisters, Margaret Woods and Helen Miller, and her brother-in-law Rip Pollock. Although Cathy had no children, she had 4 four-legged babies, Bashful and BooBoo, Toby Lee, and nephew- dog Carly. She loved them dearly.Cathy is survived by five sisters, Connie Pollock, Pat Beaver (Arthur), Teresa Barnett, Carlette Woods, Kim Kulig, brother, Carl Woods, and brother-in-law Dan Miller. Cathy was blessed to have several nieces and nephews whom she loved with all of her heart like they were her own children, Charlie Brahier, Clint Beaver, Ashley Meloy (D.J), Tiffany Cayton (Patrick), Bobby Miller, Tracie Miller (Jered Smith), and Ryan Miller (Brittany). Her great-nieces and nephews were her pride and joy Tina, Matthew, and Timmy Beaver, Evan and Ella McNally, Bryan Miller, Brayley Cayton, and Penny Meloy. Friends of the family, David Fabbiani and James Fuller. We would also like to extend our gratitude to her caregivers who assisted and befriended her over the past several years. She was proud to have you in her life. Also for the support and hard work that her employees gave her to make her dream come alive to whom we are all so very grateful. Visitation will be held Friday, April 25 from 5-7pm at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be April 26th at 12:00pm also at Eastern Gate. Pall bearers Charlie Brahier, Clint Beaver, DJ Meloy, Patrick Cayton, Jered Smith, Ryan Miller, David Fabbiani, Bruce Wallace, James Fuller, and Justin Fuller. Cathy was always like my auntie. I remember conventions with her, but there is this certain convention I remember. She was just getting off the elevator, and I had yet to see her since we all arrived. The second I laid my eyes on her, I just ran to her. The hug she gave me. All her hugs really. She will be missed. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her.
