

Born in Jackson MS, to the late George Brantley Butler and Oma Lee Hagan Butler and raised in Pensacola, FL. Charles graduated from Pensacola High School in 1949. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1957. He retired from Eglin Air Force Base after 42 years of civil service.
Charles was a devoted husband and father. There was nothing more important to him than his family. He coached various youth sports, enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a devout Christian and a member of Mary Esther United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Rubye Elizabeth Butler, his parents; George and Oma Butler, step-mother; Peggy Butler & brother; James Carlton Butler.
He leaves behind his children, one son; Chuck (Waynelle) Butler, Shalimar, FL, two daughters; Cheryl (Daryl) Johnson, Pensacola, FL, Michelle (Bill) Rainey, Monroeville, AL; grandchildren; Jason Butler, Jesse Butler, Chanley (Ken) Ryals, Billy (Caroline)Rainey and Shelby Rainey, two great grandchildren; Bennett Ryals and Carmel Ryals, one brother; George Butler, Jr., two sisters; Jane Wyatt and Jean McCauley, his brother-in-law and best friend Clyde McCauley.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 and memorial service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Jeffery L. Spicer of Mary Esther United Methodist Church will officiate the service.
