Charles Wayne Manning, age 72 of Pensacola, left his earthly life to be with his Heavenly Father on February 23, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at his home surrounded by loved ones. He is preceded in death by his father Merl S. Manning and his sister Gay Turner. He is survived by his mother, Violet Marie Manning, one brother Kenneth Manning (Lynn), two daughters Lauren Kay Manning and Amy Manning, two stepdaughters Ambre Scornavacchi and Rebecca Jones, three grandchildren Daniel, Brendan, and Jonah, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Wayne was born in Pensacola, Florida, and remained a lifelong resident. He attended Brentwood Elementary and Brentwood Junior High, and graduated from Pensacola High School. He was a member of Gateway Church of Christ, served his duty in Vietnam at Longbend Post for the United States Army, and worked for Manning Roofing and Repairs as a roofer and estimator. He was an avid artist that specialized in pencil drawings. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and music, and in his later years enjoyed spending time with (spoiling) his grandsons. Wayne was a generous and loving son, brother, father, and grandfather, and was loved by all. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral home at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2nd, with service to follow at 5:30 p.m.
Burial procession is scheduled for Thursday, March 3rd at 9 a.m. from Eastern Gate Memorial to the Barrancas National Cemetery, for the 10 a.m. Honors Ceremony.
