Charles V. Norville

Charles Vernon Norville known to friends and family as “Buddy” passed away unexpectedly on 7 January 2021 in Pensacola Florida. Buddy proudly served in the US Navy, retired in Pensacola and joined the Richard’s Memorial Methodist Church. He was very active in the church and was a friend to many always lending a helping hand to all. He is survived by his sister Sharon Lynn “Share” Norville, his brother Atkins Walter “Sonny” Norville III and wife Bobbie Pruett Norville his nephew Alexander Mark Norville and wife Catherine Monsted Norville and his great grandnieces Alexandra and Janvier Norville. Charles gave 20 years honorable service to the US Navy (1969-1989) He received the following outstanding awards, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic Of Vietnam Campaign medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal (2), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, Navy Unit Commendation with 1 Bronze Star, Fourth Good Conduct Award and Meritorious Unit Commendation. He was preceded in death by his Mother Lucy Francis Norville a long standing member of Richard’s Memorial Methodist Church and his Father Atkins W. “Lucky” Norville Jr. Visitation will be held on January 19, 2021 at 11:00 am at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL. Funeral Service will be held on January 19, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL. Private Graveside Service will be held on January 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Rd, Pensacola, FL.

With sad hearts, we will certainly miss our dear friend, Buddy, and will forever treasure the fun times with him and others at Richards UMC as well as get togethers at various restaurants and other events. Buddy had a warm heart for others and was a unique person in so many ways. May he rest In Peace eternally is our hope for him.
