Charles was preceded in death by his loving parents; Robert E. Whitworth, Sr. and Mildred Y. Whitworth, a brother; Robert E. Whitworth, Jr., two sisters: Vicki E. Hoyos and Deborah P. Whitworth.
Left to cherish Charles’s memories will be his three children: Sean Whitworth and wife Heather, Heather Whitworth-Ingram and husband Jimmy, Ryan Whitworth and partner Allen; six grandchildren: Caleb Whitworth, Catelynn Whitworth, Linzie Whitworth, Lexie Whitworth, Bella Whitworth, Talin Whitworth; one brother, Dennis Whitworth with wife Lisa; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, a number of extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Charles helped his father run the family business, Rob Trailer Hitch Center, for several years until his health began to decline. He also had a passion for softball growing up where he played at Moose Lodge, Legion Hall, and Exchange Park. He loved to hunt, fish and take his kids out with him. He set the Florida State record with his eight point buck in 1997. Most who knew Charles, knew him for his love of darts and shooting pool.
Charles was baptized at Pensacola Beach on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 in front of his family and friends. He was so grateful that his daughter helped him find God and become saved.
Charles never met a stranger and everyone was his friend. He would give the shirt off his back to make sure his family and friends were taken care of. He will be greatly missed by us all. He was always quick to brag about the successes of his children, grandchildren to anyone he could. Our hearts are broken but his memory will live on forever.
A Celebration of Life service for friends and family will be held at a future date and time under the direction of Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
