On September 5, 1944, at age 19, Clara married Joseph Wyatt of the United States Navy who was an aircraft radioman and then a chief petty officer. During World War II they were stationed together in French Morocco, London, England, Jacksonville Naval Air Station and back in Pensacola where they raised their two daughters, Barbara and Sandra.
Clara and Joseph were married for 30 years, separated for 11 years, they re-married for 22 years until Joseph passed away in 2007 at age 83. Clara and Joseph were married for a total of 52 years. They had 8 grandchildren: Todd, Kimberly, Matthew, Travis, Jena, Troy, Ashley & Lauren, and 8 great grandchildren: Christian, Ella Claire, Wyatt, Holden, Mark, Penelope, Stella & Oliver.
Clara was known to her loving daughters as Momma and to her loving grandchildren as Nanny. She was loved deeply by all.
