Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Columbus Jackson Macks, Jr., passed away peacefully in his home on March 6, 2026 at the age of 87. He was born in Brewton, Alabama on November 20, 1938 to Columbus Jackson Macks, Sr. and Daisy Lee Brittingham. He later moved to Pensacola, Florida and lived his whole life there.
He enjoyed talking about all types of subjects and he never met a stranger that he couldn’t talk with. His warmth and wisdom will stay with us forever.
He leaves behind his wife of sixty-four years, Maxine; children: Marilyn and Doug, Carolyn, Phillip and Vicki; two handsome grandsons; his sister, Mattie; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers, and one sister.
Visitation will be held at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, on March 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
