

Cora Marie Murray Gahimer, passed away on November 9, 2015 in Pensacola, Fl.She was born in Osgood, Indiana. Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Daniel Gahimer, whom she loved and admired; her parents; and two sisters (twins).She is survived by sons, Neal B. Gahimer, of Auburn, Indiana, Mark K. Gahimer, of Auburn, Indiana; granddaughters, Jessica Ruiz and Tami Gahimer; grandson, Christifer Loyd Gahimer; sister, Mickie McCalip, 84, of Vevay, Indiana; and great nephews and niece, Bob, Chris, and Patti (Mayo) Gahimer of Pensacola, and numerous other nieces and nephews.Cora remained a very proud wife of her husband as a World War II veteran, and for his brave service as a Bomber pilot.Cora and Loyd lived in many places and enjoyed many endeavors, however, she loved being a farmer's wife early on. They left their everlasting mark on the Auburn Indiana area as long time owners and operators of an early drive in A&W Root Beer stand franchise. It was during this time that Cora and Loyd passionately mentored many young people. They retired and moved to the Perdido Bay area where they remained for more than 30 years.Cora was a dedicated member of her local TOPS organization and earned many awards she was very proud of and believed that contributed to her long time good health.She was also an honorary past Eastern Star and American Legion member.The joy of her retirement years was her long time membership and her extended loving family at Point Baptist Church, that she continually and lovingly praised for their passion for helping others. A Celebration of Life will begin Saturday, November 14, at 1:00 pm for visitation and service begins at 2:00 pm at Point Baptist Church, 13801 Innerarity Point Road, Pensacola, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Point Baptist Church Children's Ministries.Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
