OBITUARY
Cynthia Marie Dunne
June 14, 1957 – January 18, 2023

On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Cynthia Marie Dunne, loving wife, mother, and friend, died tragically in a motor vehicle accident.
Cyndy was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Winifred (Bender) and George Francis Cook on June 14, 1957.
Cyndy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Dunne, Jr.; her son, Steven (Jenna) Dunne; her brother, Christopher (Ludy) Cook; sister-in-law, Leslie (Rick) Skidmore; sister-in-law, Rebecca Dunne; brother-in law, Bryan (Kristan) Dunne; brother-in-law Tim Van Berkum; nieces and nephews, John Skidmore, Amanda Skidmore, David (Cara) Cook, Jeffrey (Kate) Cook, Justin Skidmore, Taylor Dunne, Brittany Dunne, and Meghan (Ryan) Dunne-Piscopo; and many grand nieces and nephews.
Cyndy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Winifred Cook; her sister, Mary Elizabeth Van Berkum; parents-in-law, Robert and Nancy Dunne; and brother-in-law, Bill Dunne.
Cyndy was a 1975 graduate of Lake Catholic High School, attended Case Western University and Kent State University, where she graduated with a nursing degre
e in 1979. Cyndy was a registered nurse in Ashtabula County and a case worker with University Hospitals until her retirement in July 2022.
Cyndy lived by simple but powerful principles. She chose joy. Joy in her own life and for others. Cyndy trusted deeply in her Faith and in her own abilities and strengths. She believed in the power of prayer and of love. Cyndy chose to laugh often and to live in the moment. She cherished her relationships and memories with close friends and family. Cyndy was caring, loving, and unquestionably kind. She will be greatly missed and memories of her held dear by all she affected.
A private service will be held at Bayview Cemetery, Pensacola FL, where she will rest. Additional services for all family and friends to celebrate Cyndy’s life will be announced at a later date.
