Cindy was born in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, on June 16, 1953, and spent much of her childhood in “the Bay,” where she enjoyed the carefree pleasures and close-knit community of small-town life. She graduated from Coast Episcopal High School and later earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from the University of West Florida.
Cindy built a fulfilling career in higher education and research administration. She retired from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she served as a Research Contract Administrator.

She found joy in discovering new places, experiencing new adventures, and sharing those experiences with the people she loved.
One of Cindy’s favorite things to do in Pensacola was to step outside when she heard the familiar roar of the Blue Angels practicing overhead. She would stand in her front yard, looking up in amazement and with immense pride as she watched their skill, precision, and breathtaking maneuvers. It was a simple pleasure that brought her tremendous joy and captured her lifelong appreciation for beauty, adventure, and the place she called home.
Cindy had just celebrated 37 years of continuous sobriety, a milestone that reflected her deep love for Alcoholics Anonymous. She often said she was grateful to be an alcoholic because it led her to AA and to the home group that meant so much to her. Cindy sponsored many women over the years, sharing wisdom, humor and unwavering support. Her guidance helped countless people learn not only how to stay sober, but how to live with gratitude and grace.
