It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Darvin L. Barth on June 4, 2025 in Pensacola, Florida.
He was born on March 4, 1964 to loving parents, Virginia and Anton Barth in Lemmon, South Dakota. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps with honor, courage, and commitment from 1982 until his honorable retirement as a Gunnery Sergeant in 2003. He would tell you 20 years plus 6 months, and don’t forget the 6 months. He served as a fixed-wing aircraft mechanic and senior instructor during his tenure including 3 deployments, and was highly respected by his peers. He was known for his extraordinary memory and attention to detail - able to recall specifics about hundreds of Marines without ever needing to check a note or record. His dedication, presence, and near-photographic memory left a lasting impact on those he mentored and served alongside. Following military retirement, his love for aircraft brought him back working as a T34 and T6-A flight operations manager at NAS Whiting field and NAS Pensacola until his passing.
Darvin enjoyed all things outdoors, spending most of his time out on the boat with his wife or sitting out back by the pool. He loved cooking with his never-ending array of kitchen tools, tending to his yard (which was pristine), watching nascar, and spending his time with his family, grandchildren and grand-pups.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother Virginia Sedivec, his father Anton Barth, and step-father Dean Sedivec. He is survived by his wife Jackie, daughter Alexandria, son Brandon, step-children Dana, Brandon, and Leanna, sister Delphine Alm, brother Duane Barth, and numerous grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held with visitation on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 830AM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home at 619 N New Warrington Rd, Pensacola, FL 32506 with funeral service to follow at 930am. Military Honors to follow service at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11am. We will welcome any memories you would like to share during the funeral service.
