1949-2018
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, David V. Brown passed away on April 17, 2018 at the age of 68. He is survived by his loving wife Carla; his daughter Taylor; his son Ryan; his brother Robert; brother-in-law Johnny; three sisters-in-law: Cherie, Stephanie, and Judy, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Jeannette and brother James.
David V. Brown was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 12, 1949 before moving with his family to Vermont, where he and his brothers grew up.
David was a Vietnam Veteran, a 1st Marine Division,1st Force Recon who led valiantly in the face of danger and was highly regarded by his superiors. David was honorably discharged with numerous combat medals, including two Purple Hearts and a Navy Commendation Medal.
After his military career, while traveling for his work with Northrup Grumman, David met his wife Carla, and they had two children. David later became an owner-operator of his own trucking company and then completed the Police Academy in Odessa, Texas, where he became a Peace Officer.
Throughout his life, David loved and cared for his family, always putting their needs first. He will be remembered by his family as someone who loved them more than he loved himself. He will be missed by everyone dearly.
A graveside service will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
