David Lee Forrest, age 75, of Pensacola, Florida passed away at home with his wife and daughters, on Sunday, July 25, 2021. David was born October 20, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas to Milford D. Forrest and Phillis G. Lowe Forrest.
He proudly served 21 years in the United States Navy, and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. After, retirement, he was a school bus driver for Escambia County Transportation for 12 years.
Throughout his life, he coached girls softball. David was also a Deacon in the church, and he was active in the community. David was a member of West Pensacola Baptist Church. In high school, he was a track star, lettering in football, basketball and baseball.
David is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jarma Jo Forrest; daughters, Lisa Palag, Tamera Forrest; brother, Darrell Forrest; sister, Verleen Bailey; brother-in-law, Bruce (Deidra) West; grandchildren, Christopher (Darcie) Newell, Britney (Alex Arcari) Palag, Bradley (Arianah Aiena) Palag, Jessica (Phil) Gilbert, Shane (Chelsey Gibson) Palag; great grandchildren, Riley, Kinsley, Maddox, Oliver, Brody, Hayden, Brennen, Emersen, Lewis; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation for David will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm at West Pensacola Baptist Church, 5213 W Jackson St., Pensacola, FL 32506. Funeral Service will begin at 12:30 pm. David's burial will immediately follow at 2:00 pm at Barranacas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL 32508.
