IN THE CARE OF
Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel & Bayview Memorial Park
David Anderson Haddock, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Born in Macon, Georgia in 1932, David is preceded in death by his parents, John and Miriam Haddock, and his brother John Houston Haddock, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth (Betsye) Haddock, Miriam MacCarthy (sister), children, Allen Haddock, Larry Haddock, Tom Haddock, and Carole Morris; stepchildren, Pam Hasell, Sharon McMurrain, and Linda Langford; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
After graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1954 with a degree in Textile Engineering, David began work at Chemstrand and remained there until his retirement in 1987. Upon retiring, he joined Betsye as a volunteer for the Gulf Breeze Hospital Auxiliary where he developed many friendships over 27 years of service. As many know, David has a great appreciation for music beginning as a child in choir with his mother playing piano and continuing as an adult in the Pensacola Oratorio, Ferry Pass Methodist Church Choir, and the First Baptist Church choir for over 50 years. In addition to music, David loved humor of all kinds and was quick to offer a joke at every turn. The Sunday Comics, Calvin and Hobbs and The Far Side were just a few of his favorites.
A Graveside Service for David will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway with Pastor Dr. Dave Snyder of First Baptist Church Pensacola officiating.
A reception will be held at the home of Betsye Haddock immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Gulf Breeze Baptist Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
