David Franklin Johanson

1932 – 2012

David F. Johanson, 79, passed away quietly after a brief battle with cancer.

David has been a resident of Pensacola Beach since 1969. He was an Aeronautical Engineer, supporting U. S. Air Force programs at Eglin AFB, retiring after more than 30 years.

He enjoyed flying and was a member of the Lite Blue Angels. David enjoyed playing tennis for many years and was an avid card player, especially Cribbage with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 42 years, Martha; his parents, Oscar and Alice Johanson; and his sons, Charles and David.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandy Johanson of Gulf Breeze; sons, Thomas Johanson (Deneane) of Millersville, MD and Richard Johanson (Beth) of Calhoun, GA; daughters-in-law, Beverly Johanson and Linda Winesett; grandchildren, Christopher Johanson, Julie Johanson, Brandon Johanson and Alison Johanson; and great grandson, Daniel Wayne.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, 75 Fairpoint Drive, Gulf Breeze, Florida.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 09, 2012 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
