Debbie was born December 4, 1944. She was born and raised in Pensacola and went on to study nursing at the Mobile Infirmary of Nursing. Debbie obtained her RN/BSN from the University of West Florida and then her RN/MSN from the University of South Alabama. Her career began as a nurse for an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor. She spent many years helping patients at the Pavilion and ended her career as a professor at Pensacola State College. She accomplished all of this while taking care of her family and never missing an event or special moment in their lives.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, Juanita Martin and Aldo Melone; her in-laws, Edith and Lee Waters; her sister, Suzanne Overton; and her brother and sister-in-law, Wilese and Nick Bunch.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Waters; her daughter, Alison Distel (Frank); granddaughter, Madison; grandson, Ashton; her sister, Carolyn Parsons; as well as many nieces and nephews: Nicole, Stefan, Keith, Valerie, Dillon, and Sean.
Services will be held January 3, 2025 at Bayview-Fisher-Pou Chapel. Visitation begins at 10:00 am followed by the funeral services at 11:00am. with Rev. Bob Bauman officiating.
Debbie will be laid to rest at Bayview Memorial Park, and her family will host a memorial reception after the funeral service.
