Born on May 4, 1934, in Pensacola Fl, she is the daughter of the late Edna Louise Anderson and Albert Russell Rance. She is a graduate of Pensacola Catholic High School (1952) where she remained a lifelong supporter. She worked as a secretary at Sherrill Oil Company where she met, her husband of 65 years, Robert (Bert) Curry Jones.
Dolores and Bert moved numerous times over his career finally settling in Charlotte where they have lived for the past 44 years. Dolores was an avid tennis player at Olde Providence Racquet Club.
Dolores spent her life dedicated to her family raising two daughters and delightfully helped raise two grandchildren to whom she is known as Meme.
She will be greatly missed by her family: husband Bert Jones, brother Alan Rance (Joyce), daughters Victoria Jones and Denise Browning (Steven Sumell) and grandchildren Wil Browning and Holt Bolton (Brandon) and great grandson Barron Bolton.
The family will receive friends at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel in Pensacola on Friday March 7th at 10:00 am. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 am. Donations in her name may be made to Pensacola Catholic High School (pensacolachs.org/memorials-and-bequests).
