Born June 15, 1930 to Brainard and Mary (Neal) Losure in Van Buren, Indiana.
He married the love of his life, Jean Ramona Drish on November 11, 1951. She preceded him in death December 1, 1995. Together, they shared 11 children. This was before social media, cable tv, or Netflix consumed their space time, if this helps explain things.
Donald graduated from Van Buren High School in 1948. After graduation, he served our country via joining the United States Navy, stationed in Pensacola, where he met his true love, Jean.
Don, as he was affectionately known, worked at General Motors (Fisher Body) in Marion, Indiana for over 30 years. He also worked a second job most of those years at Reeds Antenna, because those 11 mouths were a lot to feed.
Don was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Although his passing came on fast and hard, it was quick, just as he would have wanted it.
He was a rock to many that knew him, a master at a fun, and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor with witty timing and a very ornery grin, he was loved by all.
No matter what happened in your lives, once you were marked as important to him, he'd be by your side if you needed him.
His love for animals was unmatched by any, cats and dogs specially were known as "his babies".
Up until his last days we weekly brought cases of food to help take care of feral cats in his neighborhood. Never wanting to see any animal go hungry. He also loved his country music and old movies.
Known as "one of the good ones", Donald will surely be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you donate to your favorite animal charity of choice.
We invite you to share memories or pictures. He would prefer you reminisce and laugh over stories and remember him with a smile.
