I Love you my dear, sweet sister. You will forever be in my heart and I know when it's my time to leave this earth, you will be waiting for me on the other side, to welcome me home.

My Dearest Friend,

You were one of my first friends when my parents moved us to Petersburg, Alaska.  We spent the night at each others houses, had pillow fights in our basement, went camping with you in your motorhome, played on the beach and made an entire city out of clam shells that's entire purpose was to be there for the flys, sang Donny Osmond at the top of our lungs, and spent many fond memories at Echo Ranch in Juneau, Alaska.  Even after we lost touch for over 30 years, your mom connected us again and we were reunited - and it was if we had never been apart.  The very special time I was able to spend with you and your family in Pensacola was God's gift to me, to spend time with you once more.  From the slushies, to the loud frogs, the early morning heart to heart talks, your potato salad, and your sneakly little kiss on my cheek during our photo together, we were together once again, as if we had never been apart.  I miss you so much and my heart aches for you each day.  I think about what you are doing and wonder if you are here with me at times.  I promise to do all I can to take care of your mom.....don't worry, we all will pull together to make it through.  The saying goes "people come in and out of your life, some leaving footprints on our hearts forever" - your footprint remains on my heart Donna, now and until the end of time.  I love you - Melody

When I first met Lee and George in Wrangell I felt an immediate connection to the family.  I never met Donna, but I feel I knew her thru her mother.  I prayed for her every day. Donna's fight should have been won. It's so hard to lose someone to cancer. I know that first hand.  I was born in Petersburg. Maybe the immediate connection isn't so curious. Our paths were meant to cross. Lee and Robert - know that I continue to pray for your healing. We must truly believe we will all be united again.  Have faith.  Love, Linda

The Donna I knew was the child, in Petersburg, Alaska.  She was sweet, fun, energetic, and loving; and I imagine that probably didn't change much in her adult life.  My heart goes out to you, Lee, and to you, Robert.  In time, may you have peace, and may the happy memories of earlier times bring you comfort.
