Dorothy Delphine (Dobbins) Abbott passed away at the age of 90 years old at her home in Milton, Florida on June 17, 2023. She was born to parents Donald R Dobbins and Barbara F "Inez" Nelson in Norfolk, Virginia on October 21, 1932.
Dorothy earned her Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of West Florida in 1982, and in 1986 she earned her Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. She served as the Chief Librarian of the Milton Campus of Pensacola State College from 1993 to 2012, a vocation she loved.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Arleigh Abbott, and daughter, Arlene Faye Abbott.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Mott (Richard); her son, John Abbott; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
