

Dorothy Lee "Midge" Mitchell, passed away at the age of 89 in Pensacola, Florida on March 31st, 2025. Born November 13, 1935, in Eskdale, West Virginia, she lived a life marked by faith, love, and service.
Midge dedicated many years to the West Pensacola Baptist Church Wee Center, where she mentored hundreds of children, sharing her deep love for Jesus with them. Her commitment to her faith extended into her personal life as well; she was a devout Christian, known for her strong relationship with God and daily Bible Studies. Midge wrote Sunday School lessons and sermons, deeply impacting her community and Warrington Worship Center, where she worshipped.
In addition to her spiritual pursuits, Midge was a loving and compassionate individual, cherished by many as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her creative spirit shone through her hobbies as a talented painter and her love for a beautiful home. She dabbled in most anything to do with arts and crafts and was uniquely creative at most everything she did.
Midge is survived by her daughter, Michelle Kane and her husband Bud; granddaughter Tarah Sarra and her husband Kyle; great granddaughters Marleigh Lynn and Leighton Marie Sarra; and grandson Kyle Mitchell-Saucke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B Mitchell, son Dennis F Mitchell, and her parents Carmen and Susie Lafferty.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Pensacola, FL, is assisting the family during this time. Midge's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as she left an indelible mark on their hearts and lives of those around her.
