Dorothy Ann May was a devoted wife for 73 years to her husband Bill, raised five children, was a registered nurse and was kind loving and compassionate to everyone. Two things she was passionate about was her love for her family and her faith in Jesus Christ. It was so fitting that she entered her new home in Heaven to sing in the choir on Easter Sunday. Her favorite expression to express love to someone was..."I love you all the bushel" and we loved her all the bushel too.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, John D. May and Lucinda Souder; son, James F. Thorns; brothers, L. Chester May, Allan May; and sisters, Kathryn Stemple and Wanda Westfall.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Susan (Kenneth) Stam, Sarah Ann (Charles) Conroy; sons, William John (Tracy) Thorns, and Daniel Joseph (Michele) Thorns; daughter-in-law, Sonya Thorns; eleven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
A private visitation for Dorothy will be held from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. She will be buried privately at Barrancas National Cemetery.
