Dr. Kathleen Mary Squerzi, 70, passed away on April 4, 2017. She is survived by her mother, Janet Squerzi, her life partner, Kathryn “Sassy” Sasser and a host of long-time friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Squerzi.
Dr. Squerzi was the first female dentist to graduate from the University of Florida and the first practicing female dentist in Pensacola and the surrounding area. After graduating from dental school, she returned to Pensacola and opened a successful practice, which continued for 39 years. Her patients were always considered her friends and family.
She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, boating, cooking, entertaining and spending time with family and friends. Because of her fondness and love of animals, her loved ones are requesting a donation to the Escambia County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, immediately followed by a service. Interment will take place at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
