I loved my father. He was a good man. He was kindhearted, funny, joyful, forgiving, happy-go-lucky, lighthearted, simple, and disciplined. He was giving, sacrificing, always compassionate for others' needs and never asked for anything in return. He had values and morals that defined him from so many others, but I'm reminded of those values in his own mother, and his brothers and sisters. He had no selfishness or greediness about him. He and my mother taught me everything that I need to know in my life: compassion, â€˜know-how', how to see past the facades in life, and forgiveness. My mother passed away five years ago. I'm now parentless, but I have no worries not only because of everything they taught me growing up, but because I also believe in God's salvation. I know he received God's peaceful and mighty salvation.

â€œMatthew 5:9: â€œBlessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.â€

My father was a peacemaker, and he strove to make everyone happy.

I have so many memories of my father. I remember he tickled me as a child. Tickling my â€˜killy-killy', my feet, and laughing at the mole on the bottom of my right foot. I remember him telling me when I was angry, to â€œget over itâ€. He didn't mean it coldly. â€œYou better harden up daughter, it's a cruel world out thereâ€, he said. â€œJust say it, and move on.â€ And he was right. There are people in this world who simply don't care about anything but themselves. 

He prepared me for many things in my life. I remember the pride that he had in his homes, his yard, and his gardens. I also remember that he felt more in his heart and in his mind, than what he expressed with those he loved. Growing up, I learned that the less he expressed truly meant that he loved me even greater.  Some emotions are too strong to express. 

God claimed my father on March 30. March will always be a special month for me. I know that he is once again joined with those who passed on before him. And because of that, I can find peace and happiness in his passing. 

Psalm 24:1: â€œThe earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.â€
