

Edsel Franklin Ward, 82, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Edsel was born in Pensacola and graduated from Pensacola High School in 1952. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1956 and was a Supply Sergeant in the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Pat, in 1961 and they were married for almost 50 years. He retired from Southern Bell in 1987 after 30 years of service.
He was an avid golfer for many years and a life-long NASCAR fan. He was always fixing things and enjoyed tinkering in his workshop. He loved driving his 1940 Ford around town and attending car shows, eating at his favorite restaurant Chet’s Seafood, spending time and having breakfast with the “Brownsville Boys”, and especially hanging out with his best buds at the “No Name Car Club” Wednesday night meetings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alma; beloved wife, Pat; son, Kevin and cherished dog, Jazz aka “little buddy”.
He is survived by his son, Kerry (Sharon); grandchildren, Nathan and Lindsey; brother, Donald; sisters-in-law, Marcy Galbraith, Sherry Brogden and Susie (Wess) Wallis; nephews, Stacy (Stacy) Brogden, Shawn (Tammy) Wallis, Shane Wallis, Tracy Williams and Tim Williams; and niece, Brandi Reilly.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 4, 2016.
