EDWARD MYERS1928 - 2015Edward Myers (CMSGT, USAF retired) loving husband and father, left this world peacefully on April 22, 2015. Born September 25, 1928 in Stamford, Connecticut, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Bessie Pappas Myers. Together they raised two children George Franklin Myers (Thailand) and Commander Deborah Myers Sweetman (Portsmouth, Virginia). Edward and Bessie welcomed three grandchildren, Kelly Myers Carroll, Garrett Myers and Jason Roberts as well as two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Colton Roberts. He is also survived by his brother, Robert E. Myers (Panama City, Florida).A graduate of Pensacola High School, Edward entered the Air Force in 1949 and proudly served his country until his retirement in 1976 spanning 17 separate duty stations. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal in 1969 while assigned to Takli, Thailand.Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday, April 28 and funeral services at 11:00 am at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. The family wishes to thank the staff of Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Mayfair House Assisted Living and Medi Home Health & Hospice for their kindness and care during his final journey.
