Ed was born January 8, 1931 in Talladega, Alabama to the late Lanier and Ezell Vernon. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church. Ed retired from the Monsanto Company. He enjoyed softball and fishing. Ed will always be remembered for his funny stories and his willingness to help others.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 69 years, Doris Smith Vernon; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Cheryl Denise Vernon and his precious granddaughter, Courtney Vernon.
Ed is preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Vernon and son, Doug Vernon.
A visitation for Ed will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, followed by a funeral service with committal prayer from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
