
Elbert was born August 15, 1924 in Gladys, Virginia to Samuel Hall and Fannie Dowdey Hall. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was an Iwo Jima survivor. After the war Elbert went to work for the Gulf Power Crist Plant, retiring July 01 1982 after 31 years of employment. He was a member of Windy Hill Baptist Church and a Team Member of Mission Evangelism. Elbert was dedicated to his family and church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elva Hall; parents and brother, Hubert Hall.
Elbert is survived by his son, Elbert L. Hall, Jr. and wife Mariann of Mobile, AL; daughters, Deloris Beasley and husband James of Pace, and Ginny Duffy and husband Bob of Cantonment; brothers, Sam Hall and wife Phyllis and Robert Hall and wife Letricia; sisters, Virginia Mason and Bernice Jennings; three grandchildren, Bo-Bo Beasley, Matthew Hall and Meghan Hall; six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 08, 2011 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Ricky Skaggs and Reverend David Shofner officiating.
Interment will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be, Bo-Bo Beasley, Matthew Hall, Jay Beasley, Keith Beasley, Randy Ard and Brian Ard.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 07, 2011 at the funeral home.
