Elinor W West

1937—2011

Elinor “Lynn” W. West, 74, entered into Eternal rest on February 20, 2011, Pensacola.

Elinor was born in Pensacola, FL her family moved to Massachusetts. After graduating from the Leominster Hospital - School of Nursing in 1958 she enlisted into the U.S. Navy Nurse Corp stationed at Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL. She married, leaving the service to become a Navy Wife and start a family. She continued her nursing career in the private sector. Upon returning to Pensacola, FL she was a school nurse at Navy Point Elementary, afterward becoming the Director of Nurses at Escambia County Nursing Home. She later went on to become a successful business owner of The Diet Center of Pensacola.

She was preceded in death by her parents the LT. John R. Agurkis and Elizabeth W. Agurkis.

She is survived by her husband LtCdr Karl G. West, 3 children, Dawna (Jorge) Jimenez-Rojo of Orange Park, FL, TSGT Shawn (Kelly) P. West of Altus, OK and Shannon K. West of Pensacola, FL. 3 brothers, John (Donna) Agurkis of Peabody, MA, Richard (Lillian) Agurkis of Ayer, MA and Steve (Prisilla) Agurkis of Auburn ME. And 5 grandchildren, Victoria Jimenez-Rojo, Michael Jimenez-Rojo, Shannon Jimenez-Rojo, Lexi West and Cameron West. 11 nieces and nephews.

As was her wish, no services are planned. In Lieu of flowers family request memorials be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 North 12th avenue Pensacola, Florida 32504
